 Cosmetic Skin Care

Healthy skin is an absolute necessity for a youthful, radiant look. If a client has only one option to create change in their appearance, I recommend a medical grade skin care regimen which includes the use of Retin-A. (also known as Tretinoin)

Skin is your body's largest organ. Your skin is in a constant state of change with old cells being replaced by new cells that form beneath the surface. Skin is affected by every aspect of your life, from genetics to how much water you drink. Ones diet, exposure to the sun, social habits and even the environment in which you live; each play an important role in how well your skin responds to the aging process. Healthy skin is more capable of resisting and countering the signs of aging, heals much faster and staves off potential disease better than unhealthy skin.

Proper skin care is vital if you are concerned about how you look. Unhealthy skin tends to appear shallow and dull, whereas healthy skin appears full and vibrant.  Wrinkles develop with more ease and sink deeper if your skin is dehydrated and unhealthy, and it can result in uneven patches that have a mottled color. When skin is unhealthy it loses elasticity which can make it sag and appear thin.

I believe that you will be more successful in achieving your skin care goals if you understand how the aging process and other factors affect the appearance of skin. During your consultation with me, I ask that you please share your priorities regarding your skin's appearance. I will then perform a thorough examination of your skin. The incidence of skin cancer continues to increase annually so it is important to fully assess any skin lesion which may appear suspicious. I will also explain how skin ages and how the aging process has affected your skin. I then formulate a skin care program personalized just for you. The skin care products I recommend are beneficial to the skin's deepest structure, the dermis. Each component of a skin care system should complement the other components. That's why it is very important for you to understand the purpose of each of the medical skin care products I recommend and how each of the products are properly used.

You are invited to visit my office to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your skin. Please contact Jenae, my licensed esthetician to schedule a time that is convenient.  Jenae and I will sit down with you to learn what your goals are regarding your skin's appearance and then formulate a skin care program that is appropriate for you skin type, lifestyle and budget.
