When I made the decision to incorporate skin care into my practice I researched for products and treatments which are the most effective in repairing and regenerating new skin cells. My goal was to provide skin care based on science. So what does this mean? As a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, the foundation of my training is the diagnosis and management of complex wounds. Basically, a wound heals by the regeneration of collagen, elastin and skin cells. The regeneration of soft tissue is necessary for your skin to appear healthier, younger and more radiant. But in order for tissue to regenerate, a "controlled insult" must be delivered to the skin's surface to incite the healing process. Skin responds to the insult by forming new blood vessels which transport additional cells called fibroblast to the dermis. Fibroblast are responsible for the healing and regeneration of skin by forming collagen. This is important because by the time we reach our early forties we have already lost approximately 30 per cent of the collagen stored throughout our body. A significant portion of the lost collagen is from our dermis. Decreased collagen productions results in thinning of the dermis and looseness of the skin. 

 

MICRODERMABRASION

 

The BellaMicro Particle Abrasion System is different from any other. The machine uses a handheld device to disperse Aluminum Oxide crystals onto the face or body as a way to mechanically exfoliate the stratum corneum; the outer most layer of your skin. While the crystals are “buffing” away the layer of dead skin cells, an adjustable vacuüm is also removing the skin cells, oils, and crystals from your treatment area. The suction from the vacuüm not only helps to clean the surface area, it also stimulates the formation of new blood vessels beneath the skin's surface leading to the increased production of collagen and elastin within the dermis. The amount of both collagen and elastin decrease with aging and their loss is what is the primary factor responsible for the thinning and sagging appearance of skin. The high powered Bella machine is focused on precision and the ability to provide consistent therapeutic treatments. TCA SKIN THERAPY

 

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) Skin Therapy, is a chemical peel that rejuvenates and repairs your skin. TCA affects the deeper layer of the skin (dermal layer). The dermis reacts to the TCA by inciting an inflammatory response which results in the production of new collagen. In addition, TCA Skin Therapy improves skin discoloration; minimizes the appearance of fine lines, and evens out skin texture.

 

 

OBAGI RADIANCE PEEL

 

The Obagi Radiance Peel is a salicylic acid-based facial chemical peel for all skin types that exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion. The superficial exfoliation, with little to no downtime, provides instant radiance and improves skin texture and tone with a series of 4-6 treatments.

 

 

SIGNATURE FACIAL

 

The hour long facial treatment will restore your skin’s healthy radiance with a stimulating facial massage, skin exfoliation with steam, and a customized facial mask selected by the client. Obagi skin care products deeply cleanse your face while steam softens your pores, liquefying sebum and removing stubborn black heads. The customized facial mask is designed to revitalize, repair, and moisturize the skin with all natural seaweed, raw herbs, and essential oils.* If needed, extractions may be performed during the facial.

 

 

TP1

 

Treatment plan 1 is a 24 week system consisting of at home care as well as in office follow up visits and services that are customized to your specific skin care needs. TP1 is for an individual with concerns of hyperpigmentation, poor skin texture along with fine lines and wrinkles. Hyperpigmentation develops from genetics, unprotected sun exposure, and aging. A more aggressive anti aging approach is required for sun damaged skin and is the focus  this treatment plan.

 

 

TP2

 

Treatment plan 2 is also a 24 week system consisting of at home care as well as in office follow up visits and services. The less aggressive TP2 is for the individual who is new to skin care but looking for a consistent way to address the aging process. With a service and follow up visit every 2-4 weeks, Dr. Franks and Jenae are always by your side accessing your progress and determining what is necessary for your skin care needs in order to achieve the best results.
