Everything You Wanted to Know About a Brazilian Butt Lift

Some women may be born with a seemingly flat butt while others may have lost a lot of weight. Try and try as they might, lunges aren’t always the answer to fixing this problem. These women do have the option to undergo a surgical procedure known as the Brazilian butt lift.

This procedure used by Dr. Franks is using the patient’s own fat from all areas around the body and injects it into the buttocks. It has become increasingly popular over the last few years.

The Brazilian butt lift can be performed in different ways. This all depends on the patient’s body type and the surgeon’s technique. The procedure doesn’t last forever, so patients want to be sure that WDF Plastic Surgery does a quality job to ensure longer lasting results.

The best technique for the procedure means the fat will be extracted through liposuction. The fat is then processed and then re-injected in the form of fat droplets.

The first step of the procedure is for the plastic surgeon to contour the buttock in order to make it stand out. This is done using liposuction in certains areas of the buttocks. Next, the surgeon will retrieve fat cells by extracting them from areas such as, the stomach, thighs, arms, back and flanks. The fat is then processed by decanting and centrifugation. Of all the fat initially removed, only about 25 percent will be reinjected. The best cells are chosen to further reduce the risk of rejection.

The fat is reinjection using special cannulas. The surgeon will inject it into specific areas of the buttocks to create a uniform and natural appearance. The amount of fat injected into the entire buttocks is around 1100cc. However, this can vary depending on the patient’s body type.

The Brazilian butt lift is by no means the only surgical option for patients wanting a fuller buttocks. Butt implants are also an option, though it’s much less popular. The Brazilian butt lift is more popular because the ending result is more natural and it’s essentially a two-for-one procedure. The patient will have a fuller looking buttocks and a slimmer abdomen.

As previously mentioned, this procedure should have long lasting results. Because it is fairly new, it is unknown exactly how long it will last. Since its inception, hardly any patients required touch ups unless they wanted a larger size buttocks.

Recovery can be somewhat inconvenient. Patients may not sit directly on their buttocks for about three weeks following the procedure. This ensures that the fat grafts hold and increases chances for a longer lasting result.
